Being clear on what you want for life, love and all things in between is what you want right?
Clarity is a beautiful word, I love the crystal clear image I get when I say ‘Clarity’. Being clear is a peaceful state to be in, it drowns out all the noise and confusion that can often come with being a human on this Earth. Oh to be in this state all the time!!
So, ‘How can we be in a state of clarity all the time?’ I hear you ask. Well, ‘all the time’ is a big ask, especially since most of us don’t live in a cave with no responsibilities (Oh sometimes I wish I lived in a cave! 🙂
But, I can give you 3 ways to be aware of when you need to be in a clear state of mind, and then how to get there. Read on if, like me, you are ready to get clear on what it is you want from your life and love (that is, your relationship with yourself & others)
3 steps to more clarity in your life
1. Make the decision to invite clarity into your life.
With this first step I want you to notice how you feel when you read it. Do you feel annoyed? Is it really as easy as just deciding? Well my friend, yes it is. Most of us can often feel that changing ourselves has to be a big uphill battle involving many difficult steps and gruelling reflection exercises but I’ve come to realise that it doesn’t have to be that way at all. After having the incredible experience of being in the presence of the great Tony Robbins last week I will tell you something he said that stuck with me… “Change can happen in a heartbeat” We don’t need to suffer and dig deeper or uncover what made us a certain way. We just need to decide in this moment to let go of the clutter and focus on what it is we want. That simple.
2. The next step after we have made the decision to get clear, is to act.
Once we decide, we need to act so that we follow through for ourselves. If we sit here and say “Yep, I am making this decision now” and then do nothing about it, we won’t move forward. To grow and to expand our conscious mind we need to look for opportunities to take action. Think about things you do everyday that take you from A to B…things such as putting the kettle on when you get up in the morning, & brushing your teeth before you leave the house. These two things get you moving and on your way towards your day. If you want something to change in your life you need to create little actions that become habits in order to support you in making the change. Setting yourself up and supporting yourself means that you will be more likely to follow through and succeed in making the changes that you desire. I am making a small change right now as I type…I am standing up as I have noticed that my body does not like sitting down for long periods. I am making this subtle change in my behaviour as I want my body to feel better while I am writing. When my body feels good, my head feels clear.
3. Thirdly, nurture your decision and honour yourself by trusting that you know what’s best for you.
We may often find ourselves in a state of confusion or stress due to feeling overwhelmed with all the ‘stuff’ in our lives. We also may feel as though it is out of our control. This is just not true. We need to realise that we have control over our thoughts, decisions and our actions and we can change all of these in a heartbeat, anytime. Of course there are some things that we cannot control such as the actions of others or the weather. But, if we can be aware that we are the masters of our own thoughts and actions then we can begin to feel powerful instead of powerless when it comes to making changes in our lives and gaining much needed clarity around direction and purpose.
I hope these steps have helped you today. If you resonate please leave a comment below. Even if you don’t agree, I’d still love to hear from you. These are areas of life that we all need support in and if we can help each other, let’s do that!!!
